Listing statistics: views, buyers and where your listing is seen

Understand your listing statistics: views, visitors, messages, offers, keywords, traffic sources and placements — and use them to get more enquiries.

When your business is for sale, you need to know whether the right buyers find the listing — and what they do next. Under Statistics you see the figures for all your listings, and each listing has its own analysis under Statistics and buyers in the menu (…). The statistics are free and the same for every seller, including the extended part.

The tabs in the analysis

TabWhat it shows
OverviewKey figures for the period, the trend and daily updated tips for more enquiries.
ViewsHow many times the listing has been seen, day by day.
VisitorsHow many different people have seen the listing, split into new and returning, and where they come from.
MessagesEnquiries, clicks on contact and offers.
SavedHow many people have saved the listing and follow it.
KeywordsThe words visitors used to find the listing.
GeographyVisitors by region and country.

You can choose a period of 7, 30 or 90 days. The Overview also shows view to message — how many visitors end up writing to you — and a list of interested buyers with the status of NDA requests.

Traffic sources: where do buyers come from?

Traffic sources show whether buyers come from Google and other search engines, from search and categories on Sitavo, the front page, the newsletter, direct links, social media or other sites. If you share the listing in your own network, this is where you see whether it works. The Keywords tab shows the words buyers used. If they use different words from your title — e.g. “webshop for sale” rather than “e-commerce company” — consider using the buyers’ words in the title, short description and SEO title. The Geography tab shows whether interest comes from your local area or the whole country, which matters especially for physical businesses.

Visibility from featuring

If the listing is featured — with a listing package, a trial package or featuring on its own — the Visibility from featuring section shows where the listing was shown and how many clicked through from there. You see each placement separately:

  • The top of the marketplace and category list, the front page “Featured” section and the top of the category page.
  • “Similar listings” on other listings, relevant help articles and the AI search.
  • Search alert emails and the newsletter.
  • Sitavo’s network of lookup sites — including DanskAdresseAPI, DanskCVRAPI and findvirk — with one row per site.

How the figures are counted

  • A view is counted at most once per visitor per listing per day.
  • Your own visits and known bots are not counted.
  • Only active and sold listings are counted.
  • We never store visitors’ IP addresses — only an anonymised identifier and aggregate figures by country and region.

Use the figures to improve the listing

What you seeWhat it usually meansTry
Few viewsThe title, cover image or category does not match what buyers search for.A more specific title with industry and town, a better cover image or featuring.
Many views, few messagesBuyers are missing something before they get in touch.Show figures as a range, state an asking price and explain why you are selling.
Many saves, few offersThe price may seem high compared with what buyers can see.Compare with market data and valuation, or start a bidding round.
Many NDA requests, few offersThe data room does not answer buyers’ questions.Add accounts, statements and a sales prospectus to the data room.

On the Matching buyers tab you see how many buyers with a buyer brief match the listing, and you can invite them anonymously to view it. More advice on the listing text is in the seller guide chapter on sales materials.

Measure the effect of a change

  1. Note views, messages and saves for the last 30 days before you change anything.
  2. Change one thing at a time — e.g. the title, cover image or price — so you can see what works.
  3. Share the listing link in your own network, for example on LinkedIn or in an industry group, and follow the traffic sources.
  4. Compare after 2–4 weeks. If there is no difference, try the next item on the list above.

The statistics are indicative. Small numbers swing a lot from week to week, so look at the trend over 30 or 90 days before you change the price or text.
