A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. It makes it possible to recognise your browser, for example so that you stay logged in as you move from page to page. The rules on cookies are set out in the Danish Cookie Order (cookiebekendtgørelsen), and we must have your consent to all cookies that are not strictly necessary.
Your consent
The first time you visit Sitavo, we ask whether you want to allow statistics. It is just as easy to decline as to accept, and Sitavo works fully whatever you choose. Your choice is stored for 12 months, after which we ask again. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time:
Necessary cookies
These cookies are necessary for Sitavo to function and therefore do not require consent. They are set by sitavo.dk itself (first-party cookies) and are not shared with others — except on the payment page (see below).

Payment: on the payment page, Stripe’s payment form is loaded. Stripe sets its own necessary cookies to complete the payment securely and prevent fraud. See Stripe’s cookie policy.
Statistics (only with consent)
With your consent, we measure how Sitavo is used — for example which pages are visited and where visitors come from — so that we can improve the site. Data is processed on our own servers in the EU and is not used for advertising.

If you say no to statistics, we still count a listing view once per day, but without a cookie — the seller simply cannot see whether you have visited before.
Local storage in the browser
Some features remember a choice in the browser's local storage (localStorage or sessionStorage). This only happens when you use the feature yourself, it is only used to make the feature work, and it is not sent to us. It therefore does not require consent. You can clear it at any time in your browser's site data settings.

Third-party cookies
We use no third-party cookies for advertising or tracking. If a seller has embedded a video from YouTube, Vimeo or Loom in a listing, that service may set its own cookies when the video loads.
How to delete or block cookies
You can always delete cookies in your browser's settings. If you delete necessary cookies, you will be logged out and we will ask for consent again. Instructions are available from your browser, e.g. Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge, under “Privacy” or “Cookies and site data”.
