Search alerts and My buyer brief: get notified about new businesses for sale

Create a free search alert and be notified instantly, daily or weekly about new businesses for sale — and let sellers find you with My buyer brief.

Good businesses for sale often get the most enquiries in their first days. A search alert watches the marketplace for you: you choose your criteria once, and we notify you when a new listing matches. My buyer brief works the other way round — you describe what you want to buy, get recommendations and can choose to let sellers find you. Both are free, and many buyers use them together.

Create a search alert

  1. Go to Search alerts and choose Create search alert.
  2. Describe in your own words what you are looking for (for example «trade business on Zealand with 5–15 employees and a profit» or «Danish webshop under DKK 300,000 with a profit») and tap Fill in the filters — or choose the criteria yourself.
  3. Watch the counter: it shows how many listings match right now. Show matches opens exactly the same results on the marketplace.
  4. Give the search alert a name, choose how often you want to be notified, and tap Create search alert.

From the marketplace

If you have already filtered on the marketplace or a category page, tap Save as search alert above the results. Your filters become a search alert straight away. You can have up to 25 search alerts — for example one for webshops and one for restaurants in a particular region.

What you can search on

  • Category and subcategory, such as Webshops → Fashion and lifestyle, or Restaurants and cafés.
  • Price and revenue with sliders that also show how many listings fall in each price band.
  • Profit and visitors per month.
  • Age (based on the year founded), number of employees, stock (must be included or not) and seller financing.
  • Platform, market, language and seller type — and free keywords.

Everything is set to «Not important» until you choose something. The search alert and the marketplace use exactly the same filters, so a listing you are notified about also appears in the results when you tap Show matches. You cannot create two search alerts with exactly the same criteria.

Listings with hidden figures

Some sellers only show their key figures after an NDA or to verified buyers. Such listings cannot match filters on revenue, profit, visitors or employees — otherwise the filter could reveal the figures. Choose «Not important» for the key figures if you want to include them. See NDA when buying a business.

How often will I be notified?

OptionHow it works
InstantlyA notification in the bell and by email as soon as a new listing matches.
Daily digestOne combined message a day with all new matches.
WeeklyAn overview of the week’s new matches.
In the app onlyA notification in the bell straight away — no email.

Emails show up to three of the new listings with title, price and category, and a link to all matches. You are never notified about the same listing twice, and never about your own listings. The messages belong to the «Market insight» type in Settings — it is switched on when you create a search alert. The top of the email may show a featured listing that a seller has paid to promote, but only if it fits your criteria.

Edit, pause or unsubscribe

  • Edit and rename: change criteria, name or frequency from the list of search alerts.
  • Pause: tap Pause — the search alert is kept, but you get no messages until you tap Resume.
  • Unsubscribe with one click: every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. It pauses only that one search alert, and you do not need to log in. Your other search alerts are not affected.
  • Delete: remove the search alert completely if you no longer need it.

My buyer brief: recommendations and sellers who find you

Under My buyer brief you choose sector, budget, region and other criteria. The Recommendations tab shows listings that fit, with an explanation such as «5 of 6 criteria» — so you can see exactly what matches and what does not. Figures the seller keeps hidden count as unknown and are never guessed. You decide who can see your brief:

VisibilityWhat it means
Only meYou get recommendations and notifications about new listings that fit. Sellers only see that a buyer matches — never who.
Sellers can find meYour buyer brief also appears in the list of investors, where sellers can message you.
Public acquisition requestYour brief also appears in the list of acquisition requests, where sellers can reply — including with businesses that are not for sale.

If you would rather not show your name, you can choose to appear as an anonymous buyer. Sellers then see «Anonymous buyer» and whether you are verified, and you share your name yourself in the conversation. You can pause the brief when you are not actively looking and resume it later.

Search alert or My buyer brief?

Use a search alert when you want to hear about new listings within precise filters — for example several alerts for different sectors. Use My buyer brief when you want recommendations with an explanation and to give sellers a way to contact you — including owners who have not yet put their business up for sale. When a listing catches your interest, read Contact a seller and Checklist before you buy.

Frequently asked questions

  • Nothing. Search alerts and My buyer brief are free for everyone with an account.

  • Up to 25. You could have one for webshops, one for SaaS and one for restaurants in a particular region, for example.

  • Use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email. It pauses only that one search alert, and you do not need to log in. You can also delete it under Search alerts.

  • Only if you choose so. With «Only me», sellers just see that a buyer matches. If you make yourself visible, you can still appear as an anonymous buyer.

  • Often because the seller hides the figures behind an NDA or verification. The listing then cannot match filters on revenue, profit, visitors or employees. Set the key figures to «Not important» to include them.
