Why sell your business on Sitavo?
A business broker usually charges a fee or a percentage of the price. On Sitavo you run the sale yourself, and the tools for the whole process are free.
Free to sell
Create and publish as many listings as you like. Messages, NDAs, the data room, offers and the deal process cost nothing, and there is no subscription.
You decide who sees what
Show the figures to everyone, only to verified buyers, or only to buyers who have signed an NDA that you have approved.
Buyers who are actively looking
Buyers find your listing through categories, regions and search alerts, and you can browse acquisition requests from people looking for a business like yours.
The whole deal in one place
From the first message to offers, a letter of intent, payment directly between you and a handover with a checklist and a receipt.
How to sell your business in six steps
Selling a business usually takes months, not days. The steps are the same whether you are selling an online or a bricks-and-mortar business.
1. Create the listing
The listing wizard has six steps and saves automatically as a draft. We can create a first draft from your website, Danish CVR data and the latest annual report, and fetch up to five years of accounts — the CVR number is not shown on the listing.
How to create a listing2. Set a realistic price
The price decides how many buyers get in touch. Order a sale price estimate based on industry multiples, or have a broker value a larger business. You can also set a minimum offer so lower offers are declined automatically.
See valuation3. Choose visibility and sale type
Sell openly with your name and profile, confidentially under an alias, or test the market for 14–30 days without appearing in search. The details can be locked behind verification or an NDA.
Visibility and NDA4. Talk to buyers and receive offers
Buyers message you and make offers on Sitavo. Each offer has its own thread, and you can accept, decline or make a counter-offer. When you accept one offer, the others are put on hold.
How to receive offers5. Share documents in the data room
Accounts, contracts and key figures go in the listing's private data room. Documents only open after an approved NDA, an accepted offer or within a deal — every view is logged, and PDFs are watermarked with the buyer's name.
About the data room6. Agreement, payment and handover
Once an offer is accepted, you follow a shared deal process: letter of intent (LOI), agreement, payment straight from the buyer to you, a handover with a checklist and a receipt at the end.

What can you sell?
Sitavo is built for both online and offline businesses — and for situations where you do not want to sell everything.
Online businesses
Webshops, SaaS, apps, websites, content sites, domains, plugins, newsletters and digital agencies.
Bricks-and-mortar businesses
Shops, restaurants and cafés, trades, salons and clinics, manufacturing, wholesale, transport, hotels and much more.

Sell confidentially — without staff and customers finding out
A sale that becomes known too early can unsettle employees, customers and suppliers. That is why you choose both who sees the details and whether your identity is hidden.
- Open sale: your name and profile are shown on the listing.
- Confidential sale: the listing is shown under an alias instead of your name — without domain, logo and CVR, and with images only if you have marked them as safe.
- Test the market: for 14–30 days without appearing in search, on Google or in search alerts, so you can gauge interest first.
- NDA required: figures and details are only shown to buyers who have signed the confidentiality agreement and whom you have approved.
A confidential sale and «test the market» require you to be verified, and the listing is checked for details that could identify the business.

Questions about selling a business
How much does it cost to sell a business on Sitavo?
It is free to create the listing and complete the deal. Sitavo takes no commission, broker fee or success fee from the sale price, and there is no subscription. You only pay if you choose a listing package for more visibility or a deal package with ready-made agreement documents.
Can I sell my business anonymously?
Yes. With a confidential sale the listing is shown under an alias without your name, domain, logo and CVR number. You can also require buyers to sign an NDA before they see figures and details. A confidential sale requires you to be verified.
How long does it take to sell a business?
It depends on the industry, the price and how well the business is prepared. Smaller online businesses can change hands in a few weeks, while bricks-and-mortar businesses with staff and leases often take several months. A listing is active for 90 days and can be extended.
How do I find out what my business is worth?
Start with a sale price estimate based on industry multiples of a normalised profit. For larger or more complex businesses, a broker or accountant can give a more thorough valuation. In the end, the price is what a buyer is willing to pay.
Can I sell a bricks-and-mortar business such as a shop or restaurant?
Yes. Sitavo is for both online and offline businesses: shops, restaurants and cafés, trades, salons, manufacturing, transport and much more. You can also lease the business out instead of selling it, or sell part of it to a co-owner.
Does Sitavo handle the payment?
No. Sitavo is not a party to the deal and does not offer escrow. The buyer pays the seller directly with the deal number as reference, and you record the payment in the deal process. For larger deals you can agree to use a lawyer's client account.
Do I need a lawyer or accountant?
It is not required, but it is recommended when selling shares, leases and employees. Each party can invite up to five advisers into the deal and decide what they may see and do.
